Set the length with the slider, then choose which character sets to include: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. You can also exclude ambiguous characters such as l, I, 1 and O when the password needs to be read from a screen or typed on a TV remote. A new password is generated instantly whenever you change a setting.

The strength meter reflects the size of the character pool and the length you selected, so widening the character sets or adding a few characters both improve it. Use the copy button to place the password on your clipboard, and paste it straight into your password manager. Passwords are created in your browser using the cryptographically secure random generator built into the browser, and are never transmitted or stored on a server.

Password Generator is built on a simple principle: the work should happen where your data already is. Most online utilities follow an upload-process-download model, which means your document, photo or recording is copied onto infrastructure you cannot inspect, written to temporary storage, read by a worker process and kept until some retention job removes it. Every one of those steps is a place your information exists in readable form. GetToolix removes the model entirely. The processing code is delivered to your browser once, and from that moment onwards the tool reads your file from your own disk into memory, transforms it with your own processor, and writes the result back out as a download.

That architectural choice eliminates whole categories of risk rather than merely reducing them. There is no breach exposure, because a server that never receives your file cannot leak it.
